Thank you Courtney for the inspiration to Plasti-dip my rear pony emblem flat black. This chrome eyesore has bothered me for some time now. Short of pulling it off and putting a flat black out panel you now have a viable option. Paint it Black!
OK I have to give props to all who paint with plastidip. If you mess up you have to peel it all off. You will see one example below were I had to peel it off.
The stock tri-bar pony emblem with black panel as delivered from Ford.
Now get out your blue painting masking tape. Note only use the blue. Do not use regular masking tape or duck tape. You will be very disappointed when you have to remove it.
I then took a couple plastic bags to mask off a larger area. Also note I am in the shade as directed by the plastidip instructions.
It goes on looking very wet. I however got it a little heavy and it started to bubble. So take it slow like with regular spray paint and do 3 or 4 coats.
Here is what it looks like when you peel it off. note this does double your time. I even practiced on another item. But still got some bubbling. So think coats.
